The loss of someone or something important to you can be devastating. Does therapy work?

Many people find therapy helps them better understand and accept themselves. This in turn can help them overcome the issues and challenges which have been holding them back. According to the NHS website, “For many adults it may be the same or more effective than taking medication.” I cannot make any promises but I believe we all have the power to change. And that includes you.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

You are very welcome to have an initial conversation with me. You can tell me more about the issues or challenges you are struggling with and ask any questions you may have. It is a chance for you to find out more about me and the way I work. We can jointly explore whether therapy is the right way forward for you and whether I am the right therapist for you. There is no charge for this and no obligation to arrange a session.

Can I have therapy online?

Yes, in addition to face-to-face therapy (at my private consulting rooms, Hunter’s Bar or Sheffield Wellness Centre, Nether Edge), you can choose to have your therapy sessions online using a video meeting, such as Zoom or Skype, This might be more convenient or because you’re unable to travel for a number of reasons, such as low energy or because of your condition. Find our more about how and where you can benefit from therapy.

How long does therapy last?

You are unique and so are the issues you are facing. This means that there is no simple answer to how long therapy will take. Many people find they benefit from between six and 12 sessions. But it’s very much led by you, and what you need and want to achieve. We will regularly review your progress and decide when it is time for your therapy to end.
